Slipped discs (subluxation)
What, as a general rule, does a chiropractor do? Why is the spinal column of such prime importance?
Two vertebrae are, at any one time, connected via 3 joints (around the intervertebral discs), where spinal nerves leave in pairs through a narrow hole in the spinal column.
Local swelling occurring as a result of slight displacement of bones, leads to pressure on the nerves resulting in reduced functionality. Pain or tingling can be experienced at the point where the nerves are connected; for example in the legs and arms or even in the chest. Over a longer period of time organs within the body can also be affected. Read more about The Heart of Chiropractic in brochures that can be found in our Practice (only in German).
Chiropractic for Whiplash injuries
Pain in the nape of the neck, headaches, migraines, non-specific pain, dizziness, noises in the ear (tinnitus), difficulty in swallowing and feeling miserable or suffering from depression are all typical symptoms that follow whiplash injuries.
Patients are frequently investigated either by their doctor or in hospital with X-rays being taken to establish if there are any fractures or broken bones. However, these investigations are usually insufficient to establish any impaired functionality of the spinal vertebrae, to which the nervous system is closely connected. Children and Chiropractic
Most accidents happen in childhood, within the first 10yrs. During the growing period of a child, the spine is subjected to numerous bumps and shocks. To promote health and development, parents are encouraged to ensure that their children receive regular check-ups of their teeth, eyes and ears; but surveillance of the spine is not generally included.
Your chiropractor is specially trained to investigate the spine, also of children. Read more in our brochure “Children and Chiropractic”, (only in German) about growing pains and other ailments that are typically experienced by children……

Chiropractic and Pregnancy
The additional demands on the body during pregnancy can, within just a few weeks, lead to a “hollow back”. The area under the bust and the lumbar spinal column can become restricted leading to pain between the shoulder blades, along the ribcage and even in the legs (known as pregnancy sciatica/lumbago). In addition, previously symptomless impairments and malfunctions in the neuro-musculo-skeletal system can surface. Chiropractic can help to correct these in a natural way and therefore medicines can be avoided. The treatment is pain-free!
